Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman Drunk In Public Again
A few days after calling a woman at an auction "fat" and "short and fat", Oscar Goodman's office has no comment - for me anyway. It seems from the video that the woman committed the hideous offence of placing the high bid on an item. Mayor Goodman, from the podium, doesn't want to take her money because she is fat. On the video, the audience reaction seems shocked.
I'm very interested in the fact that local media is burying the story. Oscar Goodman wants to be Nevada's next Governor. And would you believe it? Oscar Goodman is a Democrat! Here's what I - a citizen of Las Vegas - want to know:
- Has the Mayor apologized to the woman he publicly insulted?
- Does the Mayor remember this event?
- Does the Mayor drink during his business day? How much?
- Will Mayor Goodman seek treatment for his alcoholism?
- Does the Mayor realize that he is fat and his beard looks like pubic hair?
The primary beneficiary of this video would be Rory Reid, but I believe the video could have been released just on the merits of the offensiveness of Goodman's behavior, and not necessarily to benefit another politician. It is very disturbing as a citizen to realize that, with people are losing jobs all over town and with all the problems that go along with that, the Mayor is drunk on his ass.

The Two Faces Of Janeane Garofalo
Sounds like Ms. Garofalo has a few synapses misfiring herself. Plenty of evidence here of short-term memory loss, as well.

Iowa Caucus Results - Fred Is Amped And So Am I
Fred Thompson finished third and he is staying in the race! Watch the video at the Fred File. He sounds really excited - just the encouragement many Fredheads (and Fredhead-wannabes) have been needing! If he had any more "fire in the belly", global warming would exist! Let's keep Fred worked up like this by donating to his campaign.
Savor this Fred-alicious tidbit:
"It looks like somebody's gonna need to carry a strong consistant conservative message and it looks like it ought to be me!"
Update:
It looks like the fired-up Fred is too much for Fox News, whose pundits were most interested in discussing how the surprising results affected the guys who finished first, second and fourth. As if we care. ABCNews.com totally PWN'd FoxNews.com on the breaking news of Fred staying in the race. Imagine that.
Here's something else I noticed tonight - compare and contrast:
CNN Election Center 2008 Primaries and Caucuses
vs.
Fox You Decide 2008 Iowa
One of these two election coverage web sites is shockingly lame. Weird, huh? What gives?

Ode to Silly Hats
The foolish hit piece by Politico's Roger Simon brought back misty wartercolored memories. Join me in a dance of Republican joy:
There once was a DemonRAT
Who wore a silly hat
His name was Mike.
He took a hike
When the voters said "Eeew, look at that!"
A DemonRAT named John
Put a clean suit on.
Ack. Gack.
Freak. Geek.
The voters chose more of Bush in '04.

GOP Tantrum - You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet!
Uproarious that when a Republican gets outside the box that the media allows them to be in, it's called a "tantum". And I know you'll enjoy this little movie:

MSM Shill Sacrifices Her Deeply Held Principles To Keep Her Job
Video of the apology at The Jawa Report
Video of the name-calling incident follows. Notice the ease with which the language of the moonbat rolls from her tongue. It sounds to me like she speaks that language often. Her ranting about Guiliani's "mancrush" on Sarkozy is beyond strange. Could it be an attempt to incite disgust among the supposed homophobes of the right? Does she really think we're more retarded than she is?

Is Fox News Biased Against Fred Thompson?
It's no secret to readers of Rat Chat that I support Fred Thompson. And it's no secret to viewers of FNC's Special Report that the mention of Thompson's name usually elicits, "His campaign has problems! Tee hee!" The Panel is monolithic re: Fred. And when Fred's campaign has good news, we don't hear it first on Fox. Here is what Thompson had to say about it on Fox News Sunday yesterday:
The Hill: Thompson charges Fox News is biased against his campaign
I think there is a case to be made for bias by omission and bias by source selection. That's just not okay.
Response from the media bias community is disappointing as well. Consider this moronic analysis from Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters:
"This should certainly raise the eyebrows of folks around the country who believe Fox News is too conservative."
Where have I heard that reasoning before? Oh, yeah. ABCNNBCBSMSNBC. (For real fun, read the comments at Sheppard's post.) Meanwhile, nobody at the Media Research Center wants to touch this one with a ten foot pole. Cowards.
But before I go, how about that classy crap on O'Reilly's body language segment tonight? He aired a context-free clip of Fred Thompson stuttering for Tonya, the body language expert, to analyze.

Chris Matthews Shares His Recipe For Sadness
John Stewart tells Chris Matthews he's full of shit. ROFLMAO!
"I'm trashing your philosophy of life." - John Stewart to Chris Matthews
Matthews tries to get some traction by whining about his treatment. He seems genuinely irritated that Stewart doesn't just automatically recommend his book. He expects a rubber-stamped approval from a fellow liberal.
Matthews: "This is the worst interview I've ever had in my life . . . This book scares you. There is something in here that you fear."
Stewart: "There is something in there that I fear - like fascism. I fear fascism."

Creepy Censorship Vibe from Lamont Blog
{{{Shudder}}} But first of all, I want to thank ReihlWorldView for bringing this to my attention!
Can't believe Lamont's campaign thinks this is something to be proud of! I really can't! But read for yourself what is posted in the Ned Lamont for Senate blog: Net Vendors Turning Down Lieberman Party Work Offers. Highlights follow:
Where's Joe2006.com? Well, it's still only a shell of itself, once again pointing to incompetence as the cause of the "hack."
But there's even more interesting information on that front. It seems major Democratic technology groups are turning down Senator Liberman's (Lieberman-CT) offers to provide technology support in his go-it-alone re-election campaign.
The writer goes on to talk about two companies, Blue State Digital and Plus Three, who turned down the opportunity to work - for pay, I assume - for the Lieberman campaign. Then he lets this slip:
Many ironies here, folks. First, Blue State Digital does our technical work, and provides our tools for meaningful online participation. That Senator Lieberman's staff didn't know that is another sign of their web-incompetence. Second, it's the Blue State tech team we offered to send them on election day as they cried foul over their website "hack" to anyone with a camera, microphone, or steno notepad.
Yeah. Wink-wink-nod-nod. I'm not suggesting that Blue State Digital was involved in the hacking and denial of service that really did happen to Senator Lieberman's domain on primary day. I'm saying that the Lamont campaign is too much hugging themselves and giggling about the fact that the hacking and DoS happened while trying to misdirect the mindless by suggesting that all the problems were caused by the lack of internet savvy of the Lieberman campaign. Cute trick.
This is an arrogance that comes from a surity of moral superiority. Take notice, VRWC! This is what we are dealing with.
I wonder...what Democratic technology vendor would work with Senator Lieberman this election cycle? With all the damage he is doing to the Party in CT and across the country, coupled with the online support we have earned...who?
Kind of a threatening tone. Taunting. Who would dare work against the mighty Lamont. Here is one of the elephants in the living room: I suspect these "democratic technology vendors" of which we speak are concerned about losing contract work with Lamont Digital Systems a company that builds and operates advanced telecommunications networks for college campuses and residential gated communities, with over 150,000 subscribers. Or something else unsavory.
See what I mean: chilling. Digital disenfranchisement. Deny free speech by denying use of the medium.
I am also interested in the way the writer, Tim Tagaris, hammers on the meme "Lieberman is web-incompetent". Therefore, I guess, Lieberman is inferior. Vote for Lamont. Can you believe they expect this to work for them?
The post puts the Lamont campaign in such a bad light, I can't believe they haven't deleted it. I took a screenshot just in case they do.
And one more thing I noticed at the Ned Lamont for Senate blog. It's a whole lot about Joe Lieberman! Maybe with Neddy to run the blog for him, he'll get by as a web-incompetent!

News Flash: Al Gore Has Been Proclaimed Cool

Who is that cool mannekin?
The folks at Entertainment Weekly are falling all over themselves trying to convince us that Al Gore is now cool. And not just cool. He's too cool. Look at the picture if you need proof: He's so cool that rain forests spring up at his feet as shy jungle creatures approach trustingly.
He's now a hip and trendy (in a wonky sort of way) ecological activist.
Wow! Way better than being president - for us, anyway.
True, Gore's new gig doesn't come with perks like rides on Air Force One or a house with an oval-shaped home office, but in some ways it gives him even more clout than being Commander-in-Chief. After all, if you truly want to make a difference these days, if you really want to be taken seriously by the public and participate in the national dialogue, you don't run for president. The job title for you is Movie Star.
No matter how hard they try to convince us he's COOL, man, he still looks like a plasticized stuffed shirt.
Greg at NewsBusters and Mark at Rathergate.com can barely keep from smirking.
